Winter wonder in Myvatn

Come and experience the Winter Wonderland of the North.  We take a flight to Akureyri, the capital of the North.  From there a coach will take us to Lake Mývatn, an area renowned for the amazing beauty of its volcanic landscape and for its outdoor recreation possibilities.  Here we will see various places of interest, for example pseudo-craters and explosive craters, extensive lava fields, bizarre lava rock formations and one of the biggest high temperature geothermal areas in the country with impressive solfataras and fumaroles. 

After visiting these areas, it is time for some action.  We will enjoy magnificent views of the surrounding mountains from the lake while we enjoy a snow scooter ride.  Then lunch will be served at the Hotel Mývatn.  After lunch we will have our own Snow Olympics on the frozen lake. The snow is taken away and we will drive on go-karts on the icy lake and on special off-road tracks.  Here we can also go snow bowling, mini golfing and play cricket.

After a long and exciting day we get an amazing dinner in Mývatn.  We can then enjoy the stillness of the countryside relaxing in geothermal water or in a sauna.  Flight back to Reykjavik or overnight in Mývatn Hótel.
